A compact solution for narrow drawers where standard fixing clips simply take up too much space.
At Layers Custom Parts, many of our products start with a simple problem: an existing component works perfectly well until you encounter an application it wasn’t designed for.
That’s exactly how our new Narrow Drawer Clips compatible with Hettich Quadro V6 runner systems came about.
When building particularly narrow drawers for kitchens, bedrooms, wardrobes and fitted furniture, there comes a point where space becomes extremely limited. The standard drawer fixing clips require a certain amount of room, which can make them unsuitable for very narrow drawer boxes.
We wanted a simple solution.
Designed Specifically for Narrow Drawers
Rather than changing the drawer or abandoning the runner system, we’ve developed a much more compact fixing clip.
Each Layers clip measures just 57mm wide, allowing a left and right-hand pair to be fitted to drawers with an inside width from just 115mm.
This makes it possible to use the Quadro V6 runner system in applications where the available drawer width would otherwise make fitting conventional clips difficult or impractical.
The important numbers
Clip width: 57mm each
Minimum drawer inside width: 115mm
Supplied: Left-hand + right-hand pair
Compatibility: Hettich Quadro V6 runner systems
Colour: Black
Manufactured: In-house in the UK
Left and Right-Hand Clips as a Complete Pair
The product includes two dedicated components: one left-hand clip and one right-hand clip.
The clips are mirrored so that they can be installed on either side of the drawer, providing a compact solution without unnecessarily occupying the valuable space in the centre of a narrow drawer.
Each clip incorporates two countersunk fixing points for attachment to the drawer.
Developed for Real-World Cabinetry
This isn’t simply a smaller component for the sake of making something smaller.
The 57mm design has been developed specifically to solve the clearance issues encountered when working with narrow drawers.
That makes the clips particularly useful for:
- Narrow kitchen drawers
- Bedroom and wardrobe furniture
- Dressing tables
- Fitted furniture
- Bespoke cabinetry
- Utility-room furniture
- Other restricted-width drawer applications
For cabinet makers and installers, it can also provide another option when designing bespoke furniture around particularly constrained spaces.
Manufactured In-House by Layers Custom Parts
The clips are manufactured by us in-house from a durable black filament.
Producing the components ourselves allows us to manufacture a specialist part for a relatively niche application without the limitations associated with mass-produced injection-moulded components.
It’s exactly the sort of problem we created Layers Custom Parts to solve: practical components designed around real-world applications.
Before Ordering
It’s important to check both your runner system and drawer dimensions before purchasing.
These clips are designed for use with Hettich Quadro V6 runner systems and accommodate a minimum drawer inside width of 115mm.
Each individual clip is 57mm wide.
We recommend confirming your existing runner system and measuring the available inside width of the drawer before ordering.
A Small Part That Makes Narrow Drawers Possible
When you’re working with fitted furniture, a few millimetres can determine whether a design works.
Our new narrow drawer clips take a component that normally occupies valuable space and reduce its footprint to just 57mm, opening up the possibility of using Quadro V6 runners with drawer inside widths from only 115mm.
It’s a relatively simple component, but for the right drawer, it solves a very specific problem.
